Product Review: Collagen by Watsons Hydro Balance Eye Treatment Cream

Hi Everyone!

People are always on the hunt for a good eye cream, me being no exception. I have dark circles that never go away even if I’ve slept well, and fine lines that I attribute to my habit of rubbing my eyes when I have allergies. While concealers can easily “fix” dark circles, fine lines are harder to hide. And that’s why I always look for an eye cream that’s sure to moisturize and plump the skin in that area.

I had my eye on a number of different eye creams, especially after the Etude House Honey Cera Eye Pack Cream was discontinued. (Review on the sample I used here). And while I was debating on what eye cream to splurge on, I discovered this little guy in the department store. The Collagen by Watsons Hydro Balance Eye Treatment Cream.

I love that this comes in a squeeze tube package with a metal tip. The metal tip is cool to the skin and makes application very relaxing and soothing. I also find that its a lot more hygienic than a pot. The product has a light floral scent that I really like. It also comes in a liquid gel type texture and is cloudy white in color. It dries fast enough, but does tend to leave a sticky feeling to the skin. As it was only around the eye contour, it didn’t bother me as much.

After around a week of usage, I did notice that my eye area generally seemed to have less fine lines. It hydrated the area enough to help minimize tiny fine lines, though my deeper lines were still visible. This product moisturizes very well, but I sometimes feel like the area becomes a bit dry during the latter part of the day. I also noticed that concealers that usually wear well will start to settle a little into the lines. Just a little, usually into the lines that are deeper and more visible.

I personally tend to use eye cream in the morning only since I usually forget to apply it at night. I would assume there would be better results if used twice a day.

Verdict: For the price, I think this is a really good product! It does give moisture to the eye area and is also very relaxing to apply. Just don’t expect it to erase your problems completely. Though I can’t say much about long term use as I’ve only been using this for around a month, but if like me, you’ve run out of eye cream and are looking for something easy to find and affordable to tide you over before you buy your more expensive eye cream, this is a good bet.

Will I repurchase? I think I would 🙂 I will also be checking out the other products in this line.
