Product Review: Missha Time Revolution

Hi Everyone!

Today I have another product review to share, this time on the Time Revolution First Treatment Essence (Moist) and Time Revolution Night Repair Science Activator Borabit Ampoule by Missha.

What does it do: Highly concentrated essence serves as an essential first step of skincare to boost moisture. Improves fine lines and skin tone. The miracle water hydrates, restores, rejuvenates, and gives you a glowing complexion. (Essence)

It provides your skin with extra nutrients and moisture lacking from your basic skincare. The Ampoule energizes, repairs, and restores elasticity. It also provides wrinkle repairing and whitening benefits. (Night Repair)

How much: $49 each for full size according to the Missha Website. Roughly around 2,500 PHP

Instructions: Use the Essence as the first step in your skin care routine.

Use the Night Repair Ampoule after Toner/Essence and before Serum/Lotion.

Amount: Time Essence sample 30ml Full Size 150ml
Night Repair sample 10ml Full Size 50ml

The first thing I must say about these two products is that I detected no scent at all. No powdery or sweet scent, and no chemical or scent either. They just smelled like nothing – which of course is great for those who are bothered by scented products. For me personally, I like scented products, but the lack of smell of these two did not bother me.

Both were clear and of a watery consistency, with the Ampoule being more of a watery gel type of product.

Using the First Treatment Essence, I applied it as I would a toner. As it dried, I noticed my skin felt soft and supple after. However shortly after, I did notice a few itchy spots on my cheek and forehead. I unfortunately developed little bumps on my skin during the day that were itchy so I think I may be allergic to this product. I still finished the sample, and while it was amazing for moisturizing – either I was allergic or this product was too strong for me.

For the Night Repair Ampoule, this was a better experience for me since I didn’t have any bumps or allergies. After application, my face was a little sticky though not a problem since I was going to sleep anyway. The next day to my delight, my skin was so soft and smooth! It was amazing! I didn’t notice much on the ‘whitening’ aspect but my skin was bright and fresh.

Verdict and will I purchase full size?
For the Essence, as much as I wanted to love the product it just didn’t work out for me. Considering that I have Combination/Oily skin, it may have been too strong or just not compatible with my skin.  However if you have dry skin, this could be a product you might enjoy since it is quite moisturizing. I do think though, that the price is a little much for a First Essence type of product.

The Night Repair Ampoule however, was pretty amazing for me. I would consider purchasing it full size for sure. My skin felt and looked great each time I used it. Though 30ml is pretty small, you only need a small amount so the product will still last you quite a while.

Have you tried other products from the Time Revolution line? Which one did you like best? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. Great review! I've never tried any of the Missha products (I usually use the Laneige ones) but my serums are almost out, so I might give this a try 🙂
