Hey Everyone!
Today I will be sharing with you one of the products that helped sooth my face after my skin broke out with terrible dryness and itchy bumps.
Due to negligence in reading product ingredients, my skin was “burned” (term used by the dermatologist) by using a moisturizer that contained salicylic acid early this year. (Read about that here) In addition to the medicinal cream the doctor prescribed, I was instructed to use my “usual moisturizer” and another cream which I’ll talk about in another post.
Now, my usual is actually the Olay Natural White All in one fairness Day Cream, which I have mentioned in my Empties posts for the last 3 years. (Find them here, here and here). But I didn’t have this with me at that time. But I did have another Olay moisturizer, the White Radiance Brightening Intensive Cream Moisturizer. Since I’ve had good experiences with Olay moisturizers, and I made sure there was no salicylic acid, I decided to give it a go.
What does it do: Reduces the appearance of dark spots and visibly lightens the skin. Protects the skin from the harmful UVA/UVB rays and prevents skin darkening.
How much: Php 299 for 15g
Instructions: Smooth evenly onto clean skin over face and neck.
Amount: 15g for the small size and 50g for the full size
This moisturizer has a creamy consistency but is not too heavy. One of the things I love about Olay moisturizers is that they have a lightweight formula, and this product was no exception. It absorbs into the skin quickly and moisturizes without the sticky feeling. I definitely saw (and felt!) improvement in my dry skin whilst using this. It didn’t aggravate the existing problem and did not cause any further allergies.
This moisturizer had a very subtle scent, similar to Olay’s other moisturizers. I also noticed that my skin looked brighter after a few days of use.
I actually switched to this even before going to the Derma, when I finally realized what was causing my skin to freak out. It soothed my skin and definitely helped tame some of the itching and dryness – but it wasn’t enough. After about a month of no further improvement, I finally decided to have my skin checked. But this was a big help before and after that doctor’s visit.
Rating:
Packaging – 5/5
Price – 4/5
Effect – 5/5
Smell – 5/5
Overall – 4.75/5
Verdict: Although this is a pretty pricey moisturizer compared to others from Olay, I think it’s well worth the price. This cream helped tame the dryness and the itchiness from my skin’s reaction to the acid. And even with my skin back to normal, it keeps my face very soft and supple and definitely brightens it up.
Will I repurchase? YES!!
