In case you haven’t yet noticed, Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. Regardless if your plans are going out with the girls or with your significant other – I’ll be sharing my three makeup picks for the occasion! I’ll also be sharing two of my picks for fragrance as well so keep reading 😉
FOR CHEEKS – NYX Powder Blush in Mocha
I love a subtle blush that looks very natural, and this is just that! This shade is a light rose color that blends beautifully into the skin. As with most NYX blushes – this blush has good color payoff; a little goes a long way. I also think that rose colored blushes, especially those that are more of a dusty pink shade (like this one), go well with any eye look or lip color. I highly recommend this line of blushes, and this color since it’s perfect for both everyday and for special occasions!
FOR EYES – Wet N’ Wild Eye Shadow Trio in Silent Treatment
What I love most about this palette is that it can take you from day to night. Silent Treatment has a soft peachy-pink, a dark (almost-black) shade of brown with gold glitter and a beautiful taupe color that I am obsessed with. Wet n Wild coloricon trios are known for their great pigmentation and this palette is no exception. The shadows go on smooth, and are easy to blend. You can make a smokey eye for both day and night with this little palette. And since the colors are also quite neutral, it goes with any cheek and lip color.
FOR LIPS – Revlon Super Lustrous in Rich Girl Red
I love this lipstick since easy to wear, a little playful but still a classic red color. This is in Revlon’s shine formula so it has a glossy finish. It’s really hydrating and the color is buildable. If you’re not into glossy lipsticks, a great alternative is Revlon’s Colorburst Balm Stain in Romantic gives the same color but in a satin finish. The color is a little more on the warm side, but I think can still suit those with cool undertones. I love red lipsticks because they always make you look polished without any effort.
While it may seem like I chose these three as separate make up choices, all three actually go great together as well! These picks are also good for both day/night looks, and for either a date or for an outing with friends. You can make it as simple or as glam as you want! Versatility is always a win in my book.
As bonus, I’ll also be mentioning my two fragrance picks for Valentine’s Day. I have been obsessed with these two scents and I think they’re perfect the occasion, depending on your look or mood for that day.
If you’re going for a fun and confident vibe, I love Victoria’s Secret Bombshell. Its a fruity floral scent that’s quite warm. Now, I don’t have the actual Victoria’s Secret perfume, but I do have one from this brand called Parfvm that makes scents inspired by popular fragrances. Their take on Bombshell is pretty spot on, and lasts for hours!
If you’re going for a dark and sensual vibe, I am so in love with Jo Malone’s Dark Amber and Ginger Lily. I’ve been pining after this for months and I’m so happy I finally have it. It’s a very rich, warm and spicy scent that I can only describe as sexy. It also lasts for quite a while on me and the sillage is pretty good too.
