Product Review: Glamglow Mud Mask Series (Thirstymud)

Hey Everyone!

I have an exciting review series that I will be sharing today and in the next couple of weeks. My beautiful (and generous!) friend Micaela offered to lend me her Glamglow mud masks so I could review them.

These are from the Gift Sexy Treatment Set. The set includes: Thirstymud, Gravitymud, Youthmud and Supermud.

Today, I’ll be reviewing Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment. This is my friend’s favorite out of the 4 masks, so naturally I wanted to try this one first!

What does it do:
“Hydrates, Moisturizes, Restores, Replenishes & Calms the skin.”

How much: $69 for 50g or Php 3,300

If buying Gift Sexy Treatment Set, it’s around Php 3,900 at SM Dept Store.

Instructions: Use 2-3 times per week or when needed. Apply an even layer to clean dry skin.

DAY USE: Leave on for 10-20 minutes, allowing product to absorb into the skin. Wipe off excess with tissue and massage remaining product into skin or wash-off with water.

NIGHT USE: Leave on to infuse the skin with moisture & wake up with extremely hydrated skin.

IN-FLIGHT USE: Apply at the beginning of the flight & leave on for flight duration.

Amount: 50g or 1.7 oz for full size; 30g or 1 oz for the size in the photo

My friend kept raving about the scent of this, and I really have to agree. It’s a very relaxing (and delicious) scent that reminds me of both coconut and butter for some reason. It’s not an overwhelming smell and is really quite pleasant to get a whiff of while using the mask.

The product has a creamy gel texture and a light beige color. A little goes a long way when it comes to using this product; a small amount is enough to cover your face.

The mask was lightweight on the skin and gave a cooling feeling minutes after application. I tried using this once at night and once during the day.

Night: When I woke up the next day, my skin was visibly smoother and I noticed that my face makeup applied better and also wore better during the day. I was very impressed.

Day: I left this on for about 10-20 minutes, and I chose to wash it off with water. It did leave a thin film that I had to work a bit to wash off but my face did not feel oily or sticky after. My skin looked very soft and fresh after use.

Rating:
Packaging – 5/5
Price – 3.5/5
Effect – 4/5
Smell – 5/5
Overall – 4.3/5

Verdict:
I personally find that I would prefer to use this mask at night since I saw a much bigger improvement in my skin compared to day time use. However if your skin is looking a little tired or dry during the day, this would be a great pick me up to refresh your skin. I would definitely recommend this to those with dry skin since it is very hydrating.

Will I purchase for myself?
I will say that Glamglow’s Thirstymud gives results and I have really enjoyed using it. I would buy this for myself, but what’s really holding me back is the price. Somehow I do feel like I could find something similar at a more affordable price. But if a splurge can be afforded, I would definitely consider getting my hands on this.

Have you tried Glamglow’s Thirstymud? What mud masks are your favorite? Let me know about it in the comments below! Thank you for reading!

  1. I’m dying to try this! I have the Glamglow Clearing Treatment Supermud, and I absolutely love it. It’s a charcoal mask that tingles and cools the skin, and is killer on blemishes and blackheads.

    1. Hi Monday! So glad you dropped by <3 Yes, I agree Supermud is amazing!! I'll be writing about it in my next post hehe 🙂 I'm sure you'll enjoy Youthmud, you should definitely try it when you can!
