Product Review: Purederm Exfoliating Pore Cleansing Pad

Hey Everyone!

I’m finally back! And I found something quite interesting in Watsons a few weeks ago. It’s an Exfoliating Pore Cleansing Pad by Purederm. What really caught my attention about this particular product was that the pad was “dual-sided”, which meant that one side was for exfoliating and the other for moisturizing.

If this idea sounds familiar, it’s because its the same concept behind the cotton pads that come with SkinFood’s Black Sugar Perfect First Serum. I mentioned in my review of a sample I got of that product that I wasn’t able to try the cotton pads since they only came with the full product.

Of course I snatched this up so I could try it out!

What does it do: “The dual-sided pad is pre-moistened and enriched with Aloe, Collagen, Witch Hazel and Hylaruonic Acid. The pad will cleanse, exfoliate, tone and hydrate yur skin for a noticeably cleaner and smoother complexion”.

How much: Php 30

Instructions: Open packet and place fingers in finger pocket of the pad. Cleanse face with fleeced micro-fiber side (front) for exfoliating and deep pore cleansing. After, use the embossed side (rear) to lift away residue and moisturize skin. Rinse face with water after.

Amount: 1 dual sided pad per pack

When I first opened the packet, I was waiting to see if any scent would hit me – but none did. This product has a very very subtle lemony scent that you can only detect if you actually smell the pad directly.

I also noticed that the pad was not very damp. I was expecting it to either feel like a wet face mask or a makeup wipe at least. It felt like neither; at first I actually thought the pad was dry and I was afraid I had it out too long (though I literally just opened it and snapped two pictures). However, when I felt the pad properly I realized that wasn’t dry at all. It has a small amount of product on it, just enough to use on your face and also so the pad won’t be soaked into oblivion. It is a cotton pad after all.

Front “exfoliating” side
Back “moisturizing” side
The exfoliating side was not too rough on the skin, but was textured enough. It did pull up some dirt as a toner usually would. It felt great to use as I did feel like the pad was gently exfoliating my skin. The moisturizing side was very soft and nice to use. It felt like it worked the product into the skin.
After rinsing my face, I noticed that my skin looked smooth. It also felt clean and fresh. Very refreshing feeling!

Rating:
Packaging – 5/5
Price – 4/5
Effect – 4/5
Smell – 5/5
Overall – 4.5/5

Verdict:
I would consider this a nice little pick-me-up type of product, rather than something to use everyday or as part of a routine. It refreshes you and your skin and is easy to use. The little finger pocket was very convenient and made using the product very easy.

Will I repurchase?

Yes!

Have you tried this product or any similar types of products? Did you like them or think they’re just a gimmick? Let me know in the comments below.

Thank you for reading!

    1. Hi Karyll! I’m so sorry I’m not familiar with the PH level dear 🙁 I tried to search about it too but I couldn’t find anything. If you’re planning to try this, might be best to test it on a small patch of skin first to be sure, just in case your skin would react to it. Wish I could be of more help sorry 🙁
