Product Review: Etude House Pink Vital Water

Hi Everyone!

Remember how I bought a ton of samples and masks? Well, I’ve been trying some of them out! Today I’ll talk about samples from Etude House’s Pink Vital Water line; this includes their facial toner, serum and emulsion.

(Sorry for the photo, I opened the sachet before realizing I forgot to take a picture haha)

What does it do: “The vitality moisturizing care reduces fatigue and pink color vitality and moisturizing energy to skin.”

How much: Facial Toner (180 ml full size) – Php 798

Serum (80ml full size) – Php 1048

Emulsion (180 full size) – Php 798

Instructions: Toner -> Serum -> Emulsion

The first thing I always notice about a new product is its smell. This skincare line has a subtle light floral scent that’s perfect for those who don’t like products with strong smells.

The toner was a clear and thick, almost like a gel-water type consistency. Both the serum and the emulsion on the other hand, were more of a watery cream type consistency. All three absorbed well into my skin and the overall effect left my skin smooth, moisturized and looking dewy.

I did notice however that I developed small bumps on my cheek by the third day, and they were a bit itchy. I don’t know if it was an allergic reaction or if the formulation was too strong. I do suspect the serum was the culprit, as my face didn’t itch when i used the toner at night and when I was using the emulsion by itself.

Verdict and Will I purchase full size?

I think the Pink Vital Water line is really worth looking into, regardless of skin type. It is a water-based line, but its ingredients are also very moisturizing. It’s great for warmer months since it’s very light on the skin and absorbs well. However, as I experienced bumps on my skin and itching, some products in the line might not be for everyone. It would be a good idea to try to test products from their line (either via samples or try the testers in store) to see which ones are okay with your skin. Actually, this should be done with any skincare product – especially pricier ones so that you don’t waste your money on a product you can’t enjoy.

I would consider buying the toner and emulsion, and I would also consider looking into buying the other products in the line (Eye Cream and Face Cream). Personally don’t think I would buy the serum in full size since I think it was the cause of my breakout. I might get another sample to give it a second chance tho haha..
