Empties~ 2014

Hi Everyone!

Today’s post is a pretty late one of the products I’ve used up in the past year. Or well, the products I remembered to put aside anyway :p

I usually limit my empties posts to beauty/bath/skin care/ hair related items.

Makeup Wipes: Silk Secrets Organics (Apricot) and Femme Fresh
Very affordable makeup wipes, but don’t expect them to completely remove all traces of makeup. I think they do pretty well for an initial cleanse, or to remove makeup swatches. But I usually still clean my face with Bifiesta, and wash my face afterwards when removing my makeup.

Watsons Round Puffs
Round cotton pads that I use for removing makeup, nail polish and whatever else you need cotton pads for.
MasksWatsons Nose Pore StripsEtude House Pearl Mask and Garnier Lemon Mask
My usual nose strips, I love these. I’m using one as I type this hehe. You can read my full review here. I also love using Etude House’s sheet masks, especially the Pearl one! It really brightens the skin. The Garnier mask too. Let me know if any of you want a review on either of the masks (or both!)

Nail Polish: Bobbie Nail Polish (Margarita) and Etude House Nail Polish
These are just a couple of old polishes that have become pretty gloppy. The Bobbie one even changed color :/
 Bath and Body
L’oreal Fall Repair 3x Anti Hairfall Shampoo
The LΓ³real shampoo smells amazing and I did notice a reduction in my hair fall while using it. My main problem was that it made my scalp itch! πŸ™ I wanted to love it and I even finished it up but sadly, my itchy scalp just became dandruff *sigh* Then again, my scalp is a little sensitive so it may be different for other people.
The Body Shop Body Butter (Cranberry Joy)
I love the smell and I love the texture.
Etude House Baking Powder Pore Cleansing Foam
I used this cleanser to wash my face after I removed my makeup. I loved how my face always felt fresh and clean right after using this.

The Vert Hand Creme (Green Tea)
The smell of this lotion is quite sophisticated, but the quality of it as a lotion wasn’t too good. It felt thick and heavy and did not absorb well into the skin.

Makeup
Estee Lauder Mascara (Sumptuous – Sample)
I enjoyed using this mascara. The volumizing effect was beautiful, but I don’t think I would repurchase because of the price tag.
ELF Tone Correcting Concealer (Light Beige and Honey)
These concealers were okay color wise for using on blemishes and under the eye, but texture wise – no. These were of very watery consistency and if you fail to set with powder, would disappear in a few hours. They had a nice citrus-y scent that I liked though. Perhaps for smaller, less pigmented scars these would do nicely.
Watsons Naturals Lip Balm (Pomegranate)
My favorite but now discontinued lip balm πŸ™ Full review here.

ELF Eyebrow Kit (Light)
This eyebrow kit is the bomb dot com. I love how it makes your brows look more defined without looking like you just colored them in. This kit contains a wax to fill in the sparse areas of your brows and a powder to set it with. And it’s super affordable!

ELF Eyelid Primer
This is another ridiculously affordable product from ELF. It’s not the absolute best primer in the market but it works, even better than some other primers in the market in my opinion. For the price, it’s a steal!

Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips Talk (BE101 and PK008)
These two lipsticks aren’t really empty as I just transferred them to another container (that will be a future post), but I decided to include them any since the tube itself is empty (lol). I enjoyed these lipsticks (nice pigmentation, they feel nice on the lips, and they smell yummy) but they melted in the tube. I stored them with all my other lipsticks so I’m not sure why they were the only ones that melted :/

Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer
This was a pretty decent primer, but a little dry and tacky for my taste. I also noticed that for me, my shadows did not last until the end of the day when using this primer. It’s still not entirely that bad (still better than no primer at all) and I would probably get this again if I couldn’t find a better primer.

Bath/Beauty
Etude House Precious Mineral All Day Strong (#2 Sheer Glowing Skin – Sample)
This is a pretty full coverage BB cream. I liked it even if the color was a little off for me. Although it did make my face oily during the day. Definitely not a good idea for oily skin types I’d say – although I have combination skin.
Watsons Sakura Bella Body Scrub
Decent body scrub but I wish it had a stronger smell! It smells faintly floral but usually when I’m taking a bath I prefer smelling nice you know? But the little scrubbies are not very abrasive so this is a good scrub for sensitive skin.

Watsons Sakura Bella Shower Gel
I have the same sentiments with this one, I wish the smell was a little stronger. the quality of the shower gel itself is pretty good as it lathers well and rinses easily.

Maybelline Makeup Remover (Eye and Lip)
I really really liked this makeup remover! I was about to repurchase it after I ran out, but then I got curious with the Bifiesta – which is my current makeup remover πŸ˜‰ This makeup remover smells nice and does not sting my eyes when I remove my eye makeup. It also removes waterproof make up easily.

Whew! What a long post. Please let me know if you would like an in depth review on any of the products mentioned.

Thanks for reading!
