Review: Neutrogena Deep Clean Brightening Cleanser in Mulberry

What does it do: Cleans deep down into pores with a self – dispensing luxurious foam while helping reveal visibly brighter skin.

How much: I’ve forgotten the exact price, but it’s around the Php 300-400 mark

Instructions: I’m sure you know how to wash your face right? :p

Amount: 175 ml

I’ve actually bought this cleanser a few years ago when I heard a number of beauty gurus on Youtube raving about it. It’s a little bit pricier for a drugstore cleanser in my opinion so I kept putting it of until it was on sale; hence me not being able to remember the correct price.

What came really unexpected for me was the fact that although the bottle contains a liquid, when you pump it out it becomes foam! Hahaha! It was a moment for me because even if I read it was a foam cleanser I wasn’t expecting foam to actually come out (loser okay I know). I was perhaps a little bit too excited when I found out.

Can someone please explain how the mechanism transforms it? hahaha

Can we also take a moment to appreciate the smell of this? It smells like berries. Like a legit field of wonderful, delicious smelling berries. I love it. It makes me so happy while washing my face and is a great way to perk up my morning.

As a cleanser, it’s quite moisturizing. It does not strip the skin and make it dry. That said though, it does leave a film when you wash your face. It’s not the type of cleanser that washes away easily. It reminds me of Celeteque’s Hydration facial wash. If you’ve tried that, it’s quite similar.

After washing my face with this, I notice that it leaves a cooling and refreshing feel to the skin. My skin does look brighter, although I wouldn’t say that this is a long lasting effect.

Take note though, you will need to rinse your face very well as if you leave much of that film I mentioned earlier, you might have a few pimples (like I did). I find that if I take the time to rinse my skin very well, it won’t give me any problems.

Rating:
Packaging – 5/5
Price – 4/5
Effect – 4/5
Smell – 5/5
Overall – 4.5/5

Verdict: Pretty good cleanser, but a little pricey for me. A little bit of a hassle when rinsing especially if I’m in a hurry.

Will I repurchase?

Yes, if it’s on sale again.
