Valentine’s Day Makeup Look

Hey everyone,

It’s only a day away! Are you ready? Have you picked out your perfect outfit? Planned your hairstyle? Do you know how you’re going to do your makeup?

For me, the best feature to play up for this occasion is your LIPS. Not to say that playing up your other features isn’t as important, but for me there’s just something about the lips that I think is alluring during this season. 😉

I have two lip combination suggestions for those of you looking for some suggestions or inspiration. One is a long wearing pink look, while the second is a berry hue that’s a little different 🙂

For the Pink Look:
(just a disclaimer: I actually got the idea for this technique on a Revlon Magazine I got for free a while back. I tried it, and modified it a bit (adding the lip liner) and it was so amazing that I had to share it!)

I will be using the following products:

1. Nyx Slim Lip Liner in Bloom
2. Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Lollipop
3. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Cherish

First a shot of my bare lips with some lip balm:

Next  I lined my lips with the liner and colored them in:

Then I applied the Lip Butter:
And lastly, I applied the Balm Stain on top:
(yikes out of focus argh)
This technique makes the lip color last ALL DAY. I only apply a clear gloss in the afternoon to touch up. If you don’t have the exact products mentioned above, you can substitute with the colors that you do have. But I have to say, the Lip Butter and Balm Stains by Revlon make a great pair. If you haven’t tried these two products, I highly recommend them.

For the Berry Look:
(this combination I thought of since I love creating a two toned look on the lips!)

I will be using the following products:

1. NYX Slim Lip Liner in Purple Rain (or any purple liner)
2. L’oreal Color Riche Nutri Shine in Vivid Rose (or any bright coral/pink lipstick)
3. L’oreal Shine Caresse in Milady (or any lilac gloss)

Again, a shot of my bare lips with some balm:

First line your lips and fill them in:

Next, you’ll want to apply your coral/pink lipstick:
After which, swipe on some gloss on top:
This look leans more towards the pink/lilac hues in white light, while more berry hues in natural light. It’s basically a berry lip with subtle tones of purple 🙂 It’s sort of two toned eh? I got a quite few compliments on this look and it’s one of my favorite combinations.

And there you have it! Two of my suggestions for a beautiful Valentine’s Day Lip look. I would suggest keeping the rest of your makeup more natural so that your lips really stand out 🙂

Even if you’re single, there is no excuse for not getting all dolled up on the day of hearts! Honey, for all you know you might meet someone 😉 Get out there and celebrate!

So, regardless if you’re going on a date with your spouse, boyfriend, girlfriends or family, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day!

What are your plans this Friday?
